The AASLI program creates involvement and leadership opportunities for
second semester African American freshman students and aids them in their
academic endeavors.
Each student is required to attend study hours, be
involved with a student organization, complete service hours, attend all AASLI programs, and design and implement a group educational project.
Throughout the experience, students are paired with a peer-coach to enhance
their development in academics, involvement, and leadership.
This program is done in partnership
with the Department of Multicultural Services and
National Pan-Hellenic
Council.

The ARCHES program offers new members of the Greek community supportive
mentors as they make the social transition from high school to college.
- Goals or ARCHES:
- To create a supportive network of
Greek students who share similar attitudes and beliefs and choose to make low-risk decisions;
- To provide new members and members with the opportunity to comfortably
participate in a variety of social situations without feeling the pressure to drink or use
other drugs;
- To reduce the perception that all Greek students drink / binge drink;
- To create a social norm within the fraternity and sorority community at
Texas A&M that assists in changing the stereotypical image of men and women involved in Greek
organizations.
In order to make the Greek experience positive and inclusive for all new
members, members of Greek organizations choose to serve as advocates for
responsible decisions. These students serve as mentors for their
brothers/sisters, new members, and the Greek community.
Greek Week acts as a unifying agent for the four councils and fifty-four
Greek organizations. Two to three organizations from different councils are
grouped together in teams and participate in events throughout the week.
Teams compile points by participating in a philanthropy day, Bryan/College
Station outreach, faculty appreciation event, and individual team events.
The week culminates with a leadership speaker and a banquet crowning the
King and Queen of Greek Week.
Are you looking for a chance to meet new people and build bridges in the
Greek community?
Join us for an insightful day. Come develop leadership skills, network
with your peers, discuss current issues impacting Greeks, and more at the
Greek Retreat Teambuilding exercises and small/large group activities
and discussion will make up the days activities for all who attend.

Council, Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the
Multicultural Greek Council.
- To develop goals and a strategic plan for Greek community at Texas A&M
University.
